we wrote letters to some missionaries, including Uncle Sam....
and a few of us napped!
Sounds successful to me!

Lehi parade, Lehi bakery, AND the perfect shady spot?! Yep, we started bright and early with a great weekend! Seriously, this bakery makes the BEST buttermilk bars!
A couple of the older grandkids got to walk in the parade with my mother-in-law. She was doing it for the hospital and the kids all got wear little gowns. Even though I didn't necessarily want Kendaee to do it, she loved it!

Kolbi ended the day in bubble heaven. I still don't know how she managed to snag that bubble wand at the parade...

I even brought my real camera, but this was only one I took all day. We went to 7Peaks for the day! Jackson, Fisher, and Kolbi all crashed on the way home. We were all exhausted! After everyone showered, we had a picnic dinner in the living room and watched a family movie together. I feel asleep by 5:45. haha! Despite that, it was a fun little evening too!

Well it appears that today is day 1 (of many) days of 100 degree weather. We decided to hit the pool to try to stay cool. Kolbi insisted on me taking pictures of her "swimming". She was certain she was doing it right. I actually got in and played quite a bit with them too. It was a blast to have them jump and cannonball to me!

We rushed home, showered, and headed down to watch the horse parade with some friends. It was toasty warm, but the kids loved it!!

With our 97 degrees today, it was a snow cone kind of day! The kids all requested a picture of them WHILE they were eating..... ok?!

Today we had to take Grandma back to the airport. Sad day. These kids love and ADORE my mom. It makes my heart happy to them together!

Mom, Kenadee, and I had a small shopping spree today. I fall in love with Banana Republic more every time I walk in there. I'm loving these outlets in Lehi!

I'm still working on the french braid thing, but Kolbi always feels so pretty when I'm done. I love her huge hugs after she looks in the mirror. :)

Then.... the melt down. Her brothers had a few friends over and they were all on the swings. Yep, her life is hard!

My mom is a saint! While we were running Ragnar she took amazing care of the kids. She took them to see Monster's University on opening day. Out to dinner. To their favorite park. Stay up late having a movie night. Made pizzas. Took them to Jackson's last baseball game. I'm sure I'm missing something, but basically, she's super grandma!

She even stayed with the kids the next day so Taylor and I could go to our friends baby blessing up in Alpine. It was quite lovely to sit thru sacrament meeting childless.

Taylor has been friends with Danny and Annie since high school. I became friends with them once we started dating. It's always fun to see each other, even for such a short period of time.

Here is Annie, sweet baby Tess, and I.

She's always wanting to take goofy pictures. I love it!

Well, Taylor and I did Ragnar again. Half the time we had ourselves wondering, "WHY?! Why did we pay money to do this to ourselves??" The other half of the time we were loving life and all the goofy adult conversations! Our car had some awesome people! I wouldn't change it one bit. It was as perfect as Ragnar could be! ;)

We were in van 2 this year, which was kinda fun to mix it up.
Here were our runners.
Maddie, Scott, Jed, Me, Taylor, and Ben.

The boys had a grand ol' time decorating our car (and "tagging" other people's with our trademark dogs). haha!

Sibling love!

Taylor's first run.

Right before my first leg, we ran into my sister-in-law's siblings/cousins. It was really nice to see them and chat for a bit. They are all such sweet and nice people.

After my first run. The killer one. Ran 7.7 miles and inclined over 1,800 feet up to a ski resort.

We slept 1-2 hours out in a field on a tarp and sleeping bags.

Taylor started his second leg, his hardest, uphill, at 1:30 am. Somehow, he was smiling!

Here I am, finishing my second leg. I "might" have been singing very loudly Girl On Fire. That's how I roll.

Taylor's last leg. Hot mid day sun on black top. He nailed it though!

Giving him a water break.

Finished! Passing off to Scott. This picture shows a lot of different Ragnar emotions that you don't get anywhere else. Taylor: beyond exhausted from running, and also very little sleep. Pushing yourself beyond what you thought you were capable of doing. Scott: so proud of your team mate and family member. Watching them give everything they have left.
I actually got some serious tear eyes when Maddie passed off to me for the last time. Maddie NAILED an insane hill. I mean. An I N S A N E hill. I was so far past proud of her.

Beautiful scenery!

I'm off for the last time. I ran the 8 miles out of the canyon, into Park City. That was an amazing view!

20.7 miles baby! So proud of myself! Plus the 13.1 a week ago. 33.8 in that weeks' time. SO happy!
I am also SO proud of Taylor. He trained really hard this year and did really, really good on his legs. He ran 12.4 miles; which is quadrupled what he ran max while training. He seriously did SO good!

Woody's Run finished! (with a time of 38 hours and 15 minutes... but who cares?!)

Thursday, June 20, 2013

Today we met up with a bunch of Malones (cousins on my Mom's side). We went to Bridal Veil falls. It was beautiful, as always, and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Sonic's shakes were half price today, so it was only logical to get some!

I should have had the waitress snap a picture of all 3 of us, but I took this one while Mom wasn't there. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner as part of our date. Then to a few of the outlet shops. Now.... off to get packed for Ragnar. 20 miles here I come! Eeeek!

I love when I don't have to make a meal. I like it even better when it's Cafe Rio and when Grandma pays! ;)

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Kolbi hopped up on Taylor (to snuggle him) while he was watching the NBA finals. I teased her and asked if she would snuggle me. She allowed me to snuggle her foot instead. Isn't she so sweet to me?!

Today after Jackson got out of his summer reading class, we took the FrontRunner up to Gateway. We headed up there to see some chalk drawings from professional artists. I was so excited! I've wanted to see some like this for a long time. Well.... the calendar of events I looked at was off by a day and we totally missed all the drawings. They actually washed them off right before we got there. Insert {super sad face} !!!!! Oh well, I tried to not let it ruin my mood. We had a backpack and brought swimsuits for the splash pad area. The kids weren't loving it for some reason, so after asking them to go play for the thousandth time, I decided it was enough and we shopped a little instead. Insert {happy face}.

Non of their faces are thrilled. Hahaha! So funny!

Before heading back for our train, some Dairy Queen was a necessity. NOW the kids finally have smiles on their face! haha!
