Today the kids and I ran tons of errands. We were in Orem so we met Taylor at 5 Guys for lunch. I love getting any time with this man that I can!

Kenadee started track today. She has been SO excited for it! I love watching my kids participate and learn new things.

Oh, how I've dreaded this run today. I have a MAJOR hill to run during Ragnar (I climb 2,800 feet in 7 miles!) and so I need to start training with hills. This is the mother of hills in our area. I ran 3.1 up. It. Was. Brutal. BRUTAL! I'm hoping it will slowly easier.

After running a few errands and getting some new running gear for Taylor and I both, we headed to our first BBQ of the season with some friends from Taylor's work. One of the friends is insanely picky about what gas stations he'll get a drink in. Not due to cleanliness or anything like that, but he's convinced it tastes better. I tasted it and couldn't tell any difference.... Taylor always teases him because not only will he drive super far out of the way for his daily beverage, but he also orders from the drive thru. We wanted to show our appreciation for hosting us and got them their drinks from their favorite spot. I was so embarrassed to be using the drive thur, but our friends were dying when they got this picture!!
The only other pictures from the BBQ. Root beer floats while enjoying the lovely weather!

Every since the family dodgeball game, Taylor's been having issues and pain in his ankle. He broke it when he was a teenager and the dr. put a screw in his ankle. He went into the clinic at his work and they requested an x-ray. Everything looks good; there is some inflammation though. It's kinda cool to see the screw in there.

I haven't had a good coupon shopping trip for a long time. Small, but wonderful! Nothing on clearance, but obviously coupons for every item. $5 baby!! The workout shirt alone was originally $13. Happy dance!

My evening ended great too. This girl, as emotional as she is, is amazing too. She's so thoughtful and sweet.

For scouts today we did our bike and road safety achievement. It's always a fun one!

Right after that we rushed off to watch Taylor's softball games. I must be in denial about our cold weather. I would have been frozen and miserable if Taylor hadn't had packed our warm clothes. It was 40 degrees. BOO! It was fun to watch and cheer them on. The kids do great there too. Lots of places to hide and play. :)

Kenadee turned 9. Crazy. I have a 9 year old!

Kenadee is SO much like me. It's kinda creepy. Taylor gets a kick out of listening to us sometimes. She is so independent. She is super friendly and trusting. She makes a friend anywhere she goes. (she's had that quality her entire life) Kenadee is really active. She doesn't play with toys very often. She loves math; I am always teasing her and calling her a nerd. She is very artistic. She is short tempered. She loves to sing. I'm thinking about finding her some singing lessons... hmm....... Her and Jackson are almost always fighting. She is very responsible. She eats more than me at dinner. Her favorite color right now is purple. She loves to cook. She wants to be either a teacher or a chef when she grows up. She is a mother goose. She desperately wants to be part of the grown up conversations. She is very thoughtful and leaves notes constantly for Taylor and I (she is currently giving Taylor a foot rub!)

Kenadee requested Arby's for lunch. Easy enough. Check! It was quite fun to eat with them both at the school.

She made her grand appearance 4 weeks early, totally surprising everyone! She's been a firecracker ever since. I got stopped daily by strangers telling me what a beautiful baby I had. She really was stunning.

Kenadee, you have made being a mother the most difficult thing I have ever done. You have brought me joy in ways I never knew were possible. You have made me realize what life is really about.  I love you to the moon, sweetie.

I sure appreciate my husband. He works and is in school, both full time. He spends most of his weekend watching lectures and getting caught up on homework. He is making lots of sacrifices for our family's future. I love him for that.

My uncle (my mom's brother) Scott and aunt Tammy moved to my town yesterday. They only live like 3 miles away, or so. He sent me his address and so we swung by unannounced on our way home from my in-laws. I only know about half that side of family well. I probably wouldn't even recognize half of my cousins. Sad! Scott's kids would be included in that group. One of his sons' was there. It was nice to catch up with all of them. It looks like they will only be living here for about a year and I look forward to getting to know their whole family better. :)

For Kenadee's birthday we are going very low key. I wanted her to be able to celebrate with her friends, but not stress myself out over it! We decided on a big, glorified, play date and late night. Pizza. The girls made the cupcakes them selves. Jump rope. Tag. Music. Movies. Glow sticks. No gifts allowed. Even though the kids were here for 5.5 hours (!!!) it was awesome! Relaxed. Basic. Fun.

Taylor got invited to pick his favorite child and go to the Real Salt Lake soccer game with some friends and their favorite child. Taylor was more than happy to not deal with all the little girls. :) These pictures make me happy! I was really glad they got this chance to bond.

We had a double date with the Hoopers tonight! It was SO much fun! We tried a new place we'd never been to before; Sammy's. It was very, very tasty! Then we went miniature bowling. Haha! We goofed our heads off all night. It was so fun to relax and enjoy ourselves in the moment.

Yes, I wear casual clothes VERY frequently. But today I was showing my support for Boston. I went high class and paired my race shirt with jeans. :)

Monday, April 15, 2013

A lot of today was finishing up the errands for my mother-in-laws birthday.  We goofed off in the back of the car while we waited for UPS to print it. I bet I was there for over an hour.

I went to Cravings to get her some delicious cupcakes. They've been on Cupcake Wars 3 times and have won once. I've been excited to visit their cute shop in P.G. since I heard about them and they were super good!

Then we went to the hospital to visit Jeri and wish her a happy birthday. This is the family tree I made for her. I don't know very many people who have that many kids and grandkids that can make a "tree" like that.

Today started off with a run outside. Finally. Kenadee rode the 4 miles with me. I have been really nervous about my running. I've been consistently running for 3 months, and 3 miles is still really hard. Today marks the first Saturday of gradually increasing the mileage. I have a half marathon in 10 weeks and Ragnar in 10.5. Today's run, however, was amazing. I was able to run without stopping a single time! I felt great the entire time! YAY!

This little lady is awesome! She is so sweet and my most obedient child! Aren't her jeans the cutest?! I love this girl of mine! Her eyes are stunning!

I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture....
Our little neighbor across the street had a lemonade stand this afternoon. Jackson ran in the door and asked for 4 quarters. I don't think I've ever given the kids money for those (we have them quite frequently around here) but decided to finally "yes". I knew I didn't have much. I gave Jackson every bit of cash I had. $.21 in total. haha! He ran out the door. Jack came back with a big smile, a little solo cup, and an oreo in hand. For me. "....cause you gave me your money." !!!! Seriously, this kid is amazing me more and more lately.
Oh, how I wish I would have thought to grab my phone and take a picture of his filthy, dirty hand. Perfect, little boy, hand with an oreo in it. :)

"Mom, I can do that. You can go inside."

Such a sweet boy. I live for these simple, 30 second, moments.

Can I just please lay here? All. Day.

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

I'm glad Kolbi and Fisher have each other! Ok, RIGHT NOW they "might" be in timeouts in opposite rooms for screaming fighting with each other, but still.... they are awesome together!

Seeing that RCWilley truck pulled up to my house made me so happy today!! It's here!!!!! No more cooler smells in my kitchen! It's just lovely and makes me smile. :)

Taylor had a sweet helper making the mac & cheese. Please ignore everything taking up the entire counter! Having a broken fridge affects way more than I would have thought!

Monday, April 8, 2013

Well, we originally thought the freezer door had been left open. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Even worse, the fridge wasn't able to be fixed. Living in coolers is LAME!

On a happier note, last night I got the sweetest texts from my sister-in-law. It really gave me the confidence I needed. Being a mom is SO much harder than I thought it would be. It just keeps getting harder, too. I'm sure like most moms, I feel like a failure quite often. I really can't express how much these sweet words meant to me! I don't want to embarrass her, I just really want to remember all of this. :)

Sunday, April 7, 2013

A very relaxing Sunday up at the in-laws. The boys shot their bows. It is really cute to see Jackson getting so grown up.

The horses were loving on me!

It was crazy cold outside, but we enjoyed a little story telling.
