Jackson went to his new friend, Owen's, house right after school. Jack was in love riding their horses!!

Taylor's parents were super nice (and a tad bit crazy) and took Jackson out to dinner for his birthday. He gave me every detail; including what condiments he put on his food. Hahaha!

Jackson turned 7! Crazy. Presents from the family was a must first thing in the morning. He picked Costco's huge chocolate muffins for breakfast. Jackson is so easy to please!

I helped in Jack's class for a few hours that morning, but after putting kids down for naps I got ready for his party. He requested a monster truck theme. Again, super easy. Actually, the easiest party ever. The birthday boy loved the decorations. Once school was out, it was mayhem until bed time. We had a couple of neighbor friends over. Boys are awesome. I'm not sure why I even planned games, they were super happy playing nerf guns.

Jackson took off for his first flag football practice before all his friends even left the party. He had to leave that a few minutes early from that too in order to go to Taylor and I's co-ed softball game; in which we played in the rain. Kinda fun; better than sweating I guess. Busy, busy day. Oh well. That's what happens when everyone has hobbies.

Oh Jackson. You are my wild and crazy child. NEVER holding still for a moment. You are all boy; loving getting dirty. Friends and playing are a priority to you. You love school and more often than not, share your dessert at lunch with your sister when she finds you in the cafeteria. You are crazy sensitive. You use your imagination really well. You don't love reading and get frustrated when your voice or opinion aren't heard. You are happy go lucky and pretty chill. You are super spunky and make this family so much fun! We love you Jackson boy! I am so proud of you!

This handsome devil started his second year of preschool today!! He's a pro at this and loves every minute!

Kolbi and I celebrated and went crazy; we went to Walmart and Costco to get the last minute stuff for Jackson's birthday. Then we met a friend at Cafe Rio to REALLY celebrate! Out to lunch with just one kid?! Yep, I can get use to that!!

Jackson got a package in the mail from Grandma for his birthday. He was SO excited to open it! Sometimes my Mom and I don't wrap the item first (depending on the size/shape... making it easy to ship is the priority!) so I text her to see it he could open it. My mom didn't respond immediately so I knew she was working today. Jackson was DYING! He wouldn't not shut up about it. I left a frantic voicemail and got a quite response that my boy's night! He dove right in!

These two were actually playing together. AND they were enjoying themselves. Here is a creepy bear hug to prove it.

I guess I need to do the dishes more than just once a day. On a weekend too.

I officially started preparing for our first birthday of our "birthday season." Jackson requested a monster truck birthday.
Here is the "pin the tire on the monster truck" game.

Here is the birthday boy's shirt. The white is what I cut out to use as the stencil. Before:

After: I am really happy with it! Jack's face lit up too!! :)

Don't I have the CUTEST shopping buddy?!

Tonight Kenadee and Taylor had their first daddy-daughter activity in Activity Days. They had a pine wood derby. Kenadee sanded and painted it herself. She was so proud and has been anxiously awaiting the actual event. She jumped out of the car with a huge smile so it must have been good!

Just a little relaxing before going to bed. Nice and quite!

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Yay for school!! My kids love it! I love it! Kenadee is now in 3rd grade. Jackson in 1st. Crazy! Fisher was asking practically all day when Jackson would be home. It was quite strange to have him gone all day. He was kinda nervous. A tad nervous about everything. How lunch would go, recess, new friends... He came home with a huge smile and a new friend's name on a tiny torn piece of paper. A new friend he wants to invite to his birthday party. That made me SO happy. I was kinda nervous for him; anxious to hear about his day. Jackson and Kenadee are two totally different people. Kenadee is confident and in control every where she goes. I had zero concerns about her. They are going to start riding their bikes this year too! Wahoo!! We had a couple trial runs, which it appeared they didn't even need. I can't wait to see them grow and learn this school year!

Jackson has discovered it's not cool to snug Mom anymore. Kisses are even worse! :(  Tonight he hopped right up. I soaked it in! I love him!!

I got this ultrasound picture while at lunch today. From a friend. Words can't even explain how excited I am for their little family!!!! LOVE!

We had a bunch of friends over for dinner and a late night. I guess I waited till the last possible evening before school started. Oh well. Everyone had fun and that is what matters!!

This afternoon we went to the farmers market at Thanksgiving Point. I love that kind of stuff. Taylor went to humor me and to spend time together. He hated it. Hahahaha! :)

He checked all his pockets in the hunting back pack 3 times. Yet, I found all this in the dryer when I switched his stuff out. Oops. Camera, radio, knife, extra knife blades, batteries, poncho. It's no big deal!

We had a babysitter come over for about 24 hours while Taylor went up and checked his trail camera. It was wonderful! We hiked to where his tree stand is. I wanted to climb it just to say I did. It's about 30 feet up and was physically harder than I thought it'd be. It wasn't scary, but without a harness on (which Taylor will use the whole time he's up there) I didn't feel safe enough to actually sit in it.

So here I am beside the tree stand. Taylor is standing where the camera is. Can you imagine sitting there ALL day?? Oh man. That's dedication!

We rode around on the 4-wheeler. A good friend of Taylor let him borrow it; they are way faster than the horses! I am determined to buy wheelers at some point. (it'll be a while with moving and Taylor in school) They are so fun! It wasn't till I was driving that it brought back all these memories. Riding them with my uncle, brother, and Dad in Arizona. Motorcycle rides as a kid and in Arizona with my Dad as a teenager.... ALL of which were happy, great memories. Yep, I want some. :)

Hopefully this guy doesn't live much longer! Well, we really hope his buddy doesn't live, but can't be super picky.

We came back from camping a few hours before this girl started volleyball. I am so excited!! You can't make your kids like the same things you do, but she is loving it! We practiced in the living room today; it made me so happy. Lots of good memories are starting!

Finally took the kids to 7 Peaks. I basically lost my friend's daughter while we were in the kiddy pool. Not cool. We had to leave sooner than we wanted; all four kids were in tears. I've yet to have a good time at this place. Ok, I've only gone twice ever, but still. Not my favorite.

Monday, August 13, 2012

We had a busy day today up in Salt Lake. You'd think I'd know that place more, but I'm so lost up there. Oh, how I love my iPhone and how it gives me perfect directions every time. :)  We started at the Tracy Aviary. It was great!! We had tons of fun!! Stayed there at the Liberty Park for our picnic lunch. Then did a bunch of shopping. Making sure to look at toys at every store for 3 upcoming birthdays!
