The kids had school for 1 1/2 hours today. Weird. Not a fan.

We wasted no time getting started our Summer Fun List! I asked on our ward face book page if anyone was interested in doing a neighborhood carnival. Basically all the adults have a simple game (water balloons, hopscotch, ring toss....) set up and a very basic prize/treat (a sucker, taffy, pencil, cookie....) once the game was completed. I got an overwhelming response!! It turned out great!!!!!! Some one brought balloons and music!  We were out there for a good 1 1/2 this afternoon. There were TONS of kids. We went thru 75 paper bags to hold their loot. I'd say it was a success! Can't wait till we do it again!

Yesterday Kenadee cleaned out her desk and brought a bunch of papers and notebooks home. The notebooks were only half used so I started clearing it out so they can use the clean pages to doodle. I open up the first notebook and find some names of friends in her class... with a heart.....
Then the same boy name with hearts fell out of another notebook. Oh shoot. She's growing up on me! Yikes!

While my mom was here, I finally fixed the wall in the entry/living room. I'm horrible at before pictures: just imagine it only had the black mirror and it was hanging the horizontally. Taylor thinks the garland thing at the top looks like we're in the circus.... I like it. I love the splash of color on the wall now!! Much happier and interesting.

I had big plans yesterday to take these awesome Memorial Day pictures. Flags waving down my street, my neighbors memorial for her son, the kids red/white/blue clothes... But all I ended up taking a picture of was our dessert for FHE. Here is my proof that I love my kids.... I shared!

Got up early. Luckily! I set my alarm... for the pm. Still woke up 5 minutes after it was suppose to go off. :) Then dropped the kids off at my good friends house at 7:45 (she's bailed me out too many time lately!!) and I headed off to my youngest brother-in-laws High School Graduation. I won't mention that Taylor had a tee time and was already in Orem. I also won't mention that he was totally stopped in traffic and late for the graduation. AND I was the only in-law there. I rock!

Taylor and his siblings! They are fun, good group of people!
Jodi, Maddie, Sam, Jed, Kristen, and my hottie.

Kenadee had her field day today and came home super proud! She is officially the FASTEST second grader girl!! Her prize was a certificate for a free kids meal to Del Taco AND her name was drawn in the raffle for the gigantic tub of bubbles. I love this sassy girl!

Nothing like a Saturday evening around the grill! Hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day weekend!!

Kenadee and Jackson had their dance festival today. Early in the morning, I heard the wind blowing rain against the window (no bike ride for me) but luckily the sun came out and it was a success. The kids have been so excited and practicing their dances at home. They did a great job and were happy kids!

Nothing like makeovers to start our holiday weekend! Beautiful girls!!

One last picture with my Mom. She flew home today. Sad evening. Oddly enough, it feels quieter. Maybe lonelier? Either way, it will be an adjustment now that she's gone. She is the easiest guest to have! She does normal house chores (without being asked) and makes us some delicious meals. She makes my life easier. She's an amazing woman and I love her to the moon and back!

Two posts in row about my wild child. Here is his animal report; he picked the black bear. We learned some interesting facts, but you'd think it was torture to get him to help. This kid keeps a me on my toes!!

Random stuff from today....

Grocery shopping at Walmart this afternoon. This shirt is SO me. Guilty!
Kolbi was so sad at me for not letting her drink a gallon of rootbeer at Cafe Rio. I kill dreams.

Tonight Jack had a little Kindergarten program. 12 minutes to be exact. They sang a cute song called "I like being me!" I got a little tear eyed at my big boy singing that he loves himself and has good friends etc... I know it was a song and he didn't write the lyrics, but it was really sweet. He's getting big and learning so much.

We did our FHE tonight and it was wonderful. Kolbi grinned from ear to ear and eagerly repeated every word in her very own scriptures. Fisher picked "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" for our song.  My mom cried when we sang "I am a Child of God." The kids answered all the questions and added information when Taylor talked about Joseph Smith. Grandma's activity was a water fight. (I'll admit, I was a scrooge in the beginning, but decided to loosen up and embrace the wet tight jeans.) Kenadee rounded out the night with some Oreos and milk. I sure love my sweet, young family. They are amazing and our FHE was a little bit of heaven!

We spent the afternoon outside enjoying the 90 degree weather. My cousin came over with her 3 kids and also my Grandma. It was quite relaxing despite having lots of kids over!! It's always nice to catch up with family and friends!

We had a very relaxing Sunday. Hope you did too!!

Today was USS's annual Crawdad Boil!! We love this day! It's like a mini carnival! Cotton candy, kettle corn, snow cones, hot dogs, burgers, chips, churros. I'm sure I gained a few pounds! :) Rock walls, jump houses, ball throwing games with prizes, pony rides, face paintings, mini train rides. It was the perfect weather too!!!!

(avenger paint)

After we got home, Kolbi jumped on her bike and started "piff, puff, POOF" ing everything in sight with her new cheapo wand. It was super cute listening to her sweet voice down the street.
Finished the day off reading books with Grandma!
