Yesterday I made a BUNCH of this lovely goodness. Added some chocolate and marshmellows to make it more s'more like; to go with the theme for our New Beginnings last night. (the laterns were a huge hit too!!) Super good!! The caramel is amazing and not sticky. Mmmmm.

We finally got more than a skif of snow yesterday too. I decided to bundle up and build a snowman with the boys while Kenadee was still at school and Kolbi was napping. Big, beautiful snow flakes were slowly drifting on us. They stopped after about an hour though. It was SO fun!!

Our finished product! I love it! I just barely saw someone stop in their mini van to take a closer look. It made me happy! Yes, I'm a nerd. I sure enjoyed the time with just the boys. It was a nice moment!

Here was my lovely sight when I was finishing up the dinner prep. We have a problem in our house! Taylor made the joke that all these electronics are an investement in their education. :)

Super relaxing day today. Read a lot of my book while totally neglecting my kids. They watched some movies and am pretty sure they didn't mind. Then after my YW meeting, we went on a walk and ended in a friend's house. It's been way too long since we caught up with them, plus she had fresh cookies straight from the oven. :) It was a beautiful day!!

This is what my evening looks like. I'm finally listening to my husband and started the Hunger Games series. I figured if their making a movie out it, it must be ok. I'm not much of a reader. Add Cheetos and a cozy blanket.... I'm set!

These are the laterns I made for the YW for New Beginnings. The theme for the year is Arise and Shine Forth and the theme for the night is S'more; hense the sun and laterns. Taylor spent one night and helped a ton. He must love me! 30 laterns are made and ready for Tuesday night! Wahoo!!!

Kenadee is learning about and making Babushka dolls in school. My cousin brought one home for my mom from Russia when he went there for his mission. When my mom heard she found it and quickly mailed it to Kenadee. We got the package today! I thought my mom would appreciate a video of K opening up the gift. Her reaction surprised even me; it is SUPER cute!!

My spoiled Princess

Santa got Kolbi this dress up (and matching Repunzel doll) for Christmas. She has been mortified of the dress since. Until last night. She asked if I'd help her put it on. I was jumping for joy and made a big deal of how cute she was!! When asked if she could sleep in it, I couldn't answer, "Yes." fast enough. Taylor was laughing his head off at me. Then she wouldn't take it off to put her clothes on... ok, fine with me! She is officially my spoiled baby girl and I couldn't be happier about it!!

Updates.

Before: the old kitchen lighting. These lights have always bugged me. (there is another boob light in the entry way too). Before we even built our house, we walked thru a home with our same floor plan and I noticed, and hated, these light fixtures immediately!

After: no more ghetto cheapo florescent or boob lights. :) Still need to paint around the new can...

The boys trying to open the gigantic Costco peaches.

And me reading to the kids on my bed. Kolbi zonked out and Taylor was laughing at me from the other room as I tried to read the Star Wars names, planets, ect....

Thank you again Pinterest. You never disappoint me. I found Kneaders recipe for their french toast. TO. DIE. FOR. I just used my regular bread but used the recipe for the caramel goodness type of syrup! SO good!

Taylor and I changed our clothes from church and when we walked out of our room, the kids were too quiet. I snuck into Kolbi's room and saw this. These kids have been obsessed with the iPad lately. I love that Kolbi that is "incharge" of it! haha!! Jackson asked if he could play with it during Sacrament today. :)

After almost 6 years of living in this house, we finally added hardware to the kitchen cabinets! Wahoo!! Even better, I did it by myself! I'm kinda a big deal!!

Taylor went to a funeral for a guy at work this week. This is how I found his church clothes once he got back home. So don't be judging me when you see his wrinkles on Sunday. haha. I sure love that guy!

"Pink flowers"

Before:

After: Earrings! She's been talking about earrings for a while now. (I "might" have been the one to bring it up originally) Kolbi cheered this morning when we said that's what we were doing. (Taylor took today off work!) We walk into the store at the mall and she talks to the worker. Tells her she's two and that she wants pink earrings. BUT... once we sit on the chair together, she wouldn't have any of it! Kenadee jumped up on the chair, smiled, and turned her head for the other ear. Not a peep. Kolbi was the COMPLETE opposite. :( She loves them despite the drama. Glad it's over!! haha!

Looking at herself in the mirror.

She tired me out too. I went home and also took a nap while Taylor did homework!

One tooth down!!!

Jackson lost his first tooth!!! It only lasted 24 hours before the excitment took and over and he pulled it out himself. He was kinda in shock and took him a minute to be happy and excited. I love how excited Taylor is for him! The whole scene makes my heart happy!

The Tooth Fairy wasn't too busy either. Kenadee remembered and made a huge effort to point out that he'd get more than just $1. She got some chapstick with her first tooth. Luckily the Tooth Fairy has a secret stash for special occasions, and brought Jack some sunglasses!! :)
He's one handsome boy!

FAIL!

So for the past MANY years, (dare I say our entire marriage, 9.5 years... I don't remember ever buying measuring cups) we have been using these measuring cups. The other day Taylor made an observation. That the two sets of them are VERY different even though they say the same size... The above 2 are both 1/2 cups.

So, THAT was my problem all along! :)

Heart Day!

I love Valentine's Day. I have a lot of people in my life that I love! I was on the couch most of the day and didn't do the fun things I had planned with the kids. They probably didn't even care. I let them eat ALL their treats from their parties in one sitting. Mom of the year award, right?!

Here is a Valentine's Day tradition. Hearts everywhere and a small treat on the counter for part of breakfast.

Fisher's Valentines: "Love is a Battlefield"
Kenadee's are sewn around the edges to seal it: "you're tearing up my heart"
And Jackson's airplanes. Gum for the wings, life savers for the wheels, and a smartie for the body.

Kenadee made her cute container at school. I appreciated that SO much!
I was so sad that I couldn't go to Jackson's class to see the kids enjoy these bags. :(
I should probably be embarrassed how much time I spent cutting out all the parts for these goodie bags for Jackson's class. Especially that it took me over an hour to add handles that ended up breaking anyway cause their loot was too heavy. Oh well. Move on.
Fish's teacher, Mrs. Heather, gave all the kids these cute heart baskets. So sweet of her. He was so willing to share his handful of treats too. He's a sweet heart!
I know I look like crap. The end. BUT, my husband came home with some beautiful flowers! He even brought home a single stem for each girl! Kenadee got SO excited when I said she put the bud vase in her room.

Here were the cheesy gifts I gave Taylor. He's such a special guy. I can't imagine being more happy or having a better spouse.

(I should have said, "I love your nuts".... that would have been funny!!)

Fisher last night. Hahaha!

We've had deer in our back yard for weeks now. The kids love to watch them. I told the kids they were again and Kolbi ran and got some binocs that my dad got the kids. So sweet.
Here's my cutie at church yesterday. They combined a couple of nurseries so she was in Taylor's class. She's beautiful!!!

Here's today's picture. I've felt crappy all day; but it was minimal day and told the kids a few days ago I'd take them swimming. Not 20 minutes in Jackson cuts the bottom of his pinky toe. BAD! I carry him to the aid room and apparently he'd touched his face... makes sense for all the worried/weird looks. Hahaha! Anyway, it was all over me. Dripping off my hand. Gross. I felt bad. It cut that trip short. Shortly after getting home I start feeling worse, quick! I ended up in the after hours clinic... Strep. Boo. Oh well. I'm on meds now. I'm just sad I can't go to Jackson's class to help with his valentine party. I spent hours and hours making this craft for his class. :( Oh well, again. I'll take pictures of it all wrinkled once he gets home. Poor me.
