The week summed up...

Wow, that looks like a lot of kids! I feel old.

Kolbi HATED her first bath!!

Fish loves his new sister! He is so tender with her; and loves to touch her cheeks.

Craft day with Grandma. They made some fall wreaths for our front door. They had so much fun picking everything to put on their very own wreath. Thanks, Grandma!!!

Isn't she just as precious as can be?! I love her more everyday! I'm so glad she's here!!!

Taylor took Kenadee up the canyon today to go elk hunting. She was SO excited! Seriously, though, "excited" isn't strong enough to describe her emotions. She loves spending time with her Daddy!!

Here's the face of pure happiness! I LOVE this kid!

She's a girl that loves her jerkey!

Just kidding! She's a Kolbi!!

Well, we had a change of heart. We changed the baby's name. She will now be known as Kolbi. Kolbi Ann Beck. For real this time. It won't be changing.
She is just as precious as can be. She has these little squinty eyes and a petite nose and mouth. She is a beautiful baby, if I do say so myself. She isn't doing the best at night. Way more fussy than I remember our other babies being. She's pretty good in the day; sleeping lots. Kolbi's cry is louder and sounds more like a screeching bird, compared to our other kids. I've been feeling as good as possible. It is hard to adjustment to the lack of sleep. I've also been wondering the last day; why is it your body produces a gallon of milk when all that is needed is a cup? Hmmm...
The other kids are doing really good with the change. Kenadee is so much help and loves to hold her new sister. She just barely gave me advice of what I need to do to stop Kolbi's crying. "You need to hug her tight, then snug your face down to hers, and go shhhh shhhh." Jackson is acting out more. Not overly bad, just louder and acts pretty wild. I was worried about Fisher for no reason. He has done awesome! He always let me know when Kolbi starts to make noices. He has really warmed up to her and wanted a turn to hold her yesterday. He's a good little boy.
My Mom is in town and can I just say that you are never to old to be taken care of by your Mom. Moms are awesome!! I hope I remember all this when my kids are grown.

Jolene Ann Beck

Here I am the day I went into labor. 37 weeks and 5 days.

So I'd been having contractions all afternoon; which wasn't abnormal at all. I really wanted to keep the contractions coming, so I took the kids to Old Navy and Target, hoping the walking would achieve my goal. I was so ready to have this baby, plus my Mom was flying into town the next day. While at Target the contractions started feeling slightly worse; still, I'd felt contractions like that weeks ago. It wasn't until about 5:15 that I had to change my breathing during the contraction. So we dropped the kids off at my good friend's house and set off for the hospital. I got admitted at 7 pm and was quickly given my IV. My doctor showed up at 8:45 at which point I was at a 6. Can I give a holla out to epiderals? They rule!!! At 9:30 I was 7. At this point he broke my water. My doctor didn't think it was worth waiting to get the antibiotics in my system, due to the fact I'm a VBAC. So at 10:15 I was completely dialated and pushed thru 2 contractions. Jolene was born at 10:20 on September 15th. She is my heaviest and longest, at 6 pounds 7 ounces and 18.5 inches. She is doing great!! Perfect in everyway! I am feeling awesome, just a little tender and anxious to get home. I can't wait to be at home with our new family of 6.

Jolene has about the same amount of hair as Kenadee did at birth; Jolene's is just very black.

These two are about as different looking as they can get. Salt vs. Pepper. Day vs. Night.

Taylor brought Fisher to the hospital while the bigger kids were in school. Fisher was so hesitant at first. He was acrooss the room when Taylor wheeled her in. He slowly took tiny steps to where Taylor was sitting with her. Soon he was sitting on Tay's lap with Jolene, emotionless. We couldn't quite tell what he was thinking. He warmed up after a while and was playing on the couch and hiding behind the chair.

Kenadee was in heaven!! She couldn't get enough of her new sister. She has been begging us to name her Leah for a few months, and we kept saying that was a beautiful name.... for her teddy bear. As soon as walked in she asked if we knew her name yet, and she gave "Jolene" the stamp of approval.

Jackson loved her too. He was more petting her than snuggling her. It's so crazy how all of the sudden the other 3 kids look and act SO old. After changing this tiny baby bum, Fisher has the biggest bum. Jackson and Kenadee both seem so mature.
I am just so grateful that Jolene got here safely and healthy (and perfect timing- my Mom flew in today and was just planning on waiting for her arrival) I'm so excited for the next phase in my life!!

My baby is 2!

Fisher is such a stud! He is a happy kid who loves balls, dogs, and watching sports with his Dad. He always climbs up next to Taylor with his cozy and says, "Catch the ball!!" He has been a little stinker lately by not taking his nap, which makes for a grouchy afternoon and next day. He has started to be a picky eater too; really only eating the childhood staples of dairy and carbs. He loves to tackle his brother and copy whatever the bigger kids do.
Fish HATES to have his ear cleaned. (he screams bloody mary and I end up basically sitting on him to hold him still) He loves dessert, just like Mom. He gives some of the best squeezes and kisses and frequently wants to rub the "bebe". Fisher has been such a joy to have around and I have loved watching him grow and develop. Have a great day, bud! We are so happy to have you in our family!!!!

Preschool Boy!

I can't believe he is old enough to go to preschool! I've obviously known this day was coming, but it was still a weird feeling. K was at Kindergarten already when I  dropped him off. That left just Fisher and I. Strange. Who knows how many more days it will be just the two of us, so I should live it up while it is.
Jackson did awesome!! He was so excited for his first day, not a bit nervous like I thought he'd be. He picked out his outfit the night before; and of course he picked the football shirt that is too big for his skinny body. As crazy as he is, I sure love that boy!! Have a good year, buddy!!!!

Ahoy Matey!

I guess I can finally add pictures of the boys' birthday party. I've been slacking. Jackson has really been into pirates lately, I have no clue why. So he requested that as the theme. Once again, Jack got his way... maybe one of these years Fisher will have his own party. If he's lucky.

Anyway, my Mom sent a cake kit, which was a huge hit. The boys LOVED it! As an added bonus, it was really easy to make. The boys got spoiled once again with tons of new toys, as usual. I love birthdays for that reason alone; the kids stayed entertained for days with their new toys. Thank you everyone for all your love and support!

Annual Slip n Slide!

We have some awesome friends! Last year they put together an adult sized slip n slide in their back yard; this year it was out done! They moved it to the park and it was 5 billboards long!! It was so much fun!! It took Fisher a while to get comfortable with it, but by the end he kept grabbing our fingers and babbling while pointing to the top. The other kids ran non stop to the top of the hill for 2 straight hours. I made the trek up maybe 6 times. I was proud of myself!!
There were a few adult injuries, non of which involved a baby being born. It was a good time though!! One more thing to look forward to next summer! Thanks McAdams!!!
