Wow, I'm slow!

I think I'm the last person in the blogging world to post anything about Christmas. First of all, I recommend waiting to set up Christmas till early in the morning. We waited and woke up at 5:45, got breakfast in the oven (it takes and hour to cook) then we woke the kids up. Worked like a charm, and everyone got their much needed sleep.

Taylor's family has the tradition that on Christmas "Adam" everyone sleeps under the tree. We decided to keep the tradition alive, and starting doing it this year. After explaining that we don't sleep "UNDER" the tree, Kenadee was VERY excited, and asked to go to bed around 6 pm. I was forced to not sleep comfortably in my bed, and slept between two kids. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be... not near as good though, either.

Here are two handsome boys in their annual Christmas pj's from Grandma Beck. Everyone always gets them on Christmas Eve so they can wake up in them Christmas morning. Another good tradition! They make me smile; I sure love these boys!!!

I was so excited to see the kids reaction this morning. I wasn't disappointed!! The big kids LOVED it, as always. Kenadee kept looking up in the air and announcing, "Thank you Grandma!" or "Thank you Santa!!" That happened with every present, no matter who it is from! Jackson's face in the above picture says it all. Christmas is so magical for kids; I love it!!
Fisher: Well, we woke all the kids up at 6:15 (they normally wake up around 6:30-6:45). He was basically lathargic. Not interested in ANYTHING. He even started falling asleep on Tay. So back in his bed at 6:30. We finally woke him up at 11:30. Still not interested. He just sat there. We drove up to the Beck's at 12:30, Fisher fell asleep AGAIN in the car! After that he was a little more lively, and opened a few presents. Wow!! Not what I planned for!!!

Fisher fell asleep shortly after opening presents.

On a side note: I noticed yesterday while Fish was crying while I trying to get his pj's on, that he has 2 molars. Probably part of the problem over Christmas. I felt like a great Mom for not knowing that was his issue!

The last couple of days have been awesome. The kids are so entertained with new toys, (Taylor with football) All the crazy attitudes have for the most part have disapeared. Yeah! I feel like I've been typing for hours, probably because I deleted half of it, just to retype it!!

White Christmas??

I think so!
We had a quite a day yesterday. It all started taking our Pathfinder in the shop to fix a few things... then all this snow dumps on us!! As I was shoveling it I was laughing to myself: how ironic that I don't have my 4 wheel drive. Needless to say we stayed home till the Beck Christmas Party that night. All this snow 10-12 " fell in a matter of about 5 hours. WOW!!! At least there was no school or gymnastics yesterday. Doesn't the snow blower in the background look nice?
Dee Dee has been begging to build a snowman. Tada!!
Moving onto the Party. Here are Maddie, Taylor, and Sam (his siblings) as the Angel and Shepherds. Taylor joked, "Apparently the Shepherds didn't get much exercise back then!" How handsome!!
So Ramon handed Grandpa Neldon a few presents because G-pa was leaving soon. Jackson would NOT leave Ramon's side. Ramon was officially the present-hander-out-er. He wanted HIS present. When it was finally the kids' turns Jack wasn't let down; he loved the dinosaur and cars.

Fisher was so funny! He WOULDN'T sit on Santa's lap all month. Then last night... Fish could see the treat Santa was handing out SO... he camped out right next to Santa until his named was called. Fisher wouldn't look at him AT ALL, he just wanted HIS treat!!! I just couldn't believe he sat on his lap!! I sure love that kid!!!!!!
This is my father-in-law, Dave. I love Dave!! He makes me laugh every time I see him! That is where Tay got his sense of humor. (Kenadee is getting it too)

I am so excited for Christmas, and I must admit it's the gifts... for the kids! They are at such a fun age. They asked for inexpensive things like a yo-yo. We decided to surprise them with a BB gun. A couple of days after this discussion Jackson, completely on his own, says, "Mom, I want a gun so I can shoot with Dad. A real gun." I tried not to smile and simply said, "Ask Santa!" I am just SO excited!!! Before long they will be asking for expensive things... in the mean time we decided to spoil them a little!!

USSynthetic Fun!

We brought Taylor some lunch today because we were in Orem running some errands. And decided to let the boys see where Dad works. (Kenadee saw earlier this week when we had a girls' day) Fisher kept the safety glasses WAY longer than I thought he would. It's actually pretty cool to see the big presses and the other equipment. We are standing in front of a press in the second picture. The kids were so excited that they got to bring home a "rejected" part. Yippee!! Tay works with a lot of fun people that make my laugh; so I quite enjoy our visits. We love you, babe; thanks for being so awesome at your job!

I know that I am setting myself up for many jokes, so just go ahead!! Taylor can do all these "tricks" with his tongue... and me on the other hand, NADA. Kenadee got her talents from her Dad. I think I am the only one in my family who can't roll their tongue. I hope the boys don't get my bad luck!

Fisher was sick this day; but it's practically the only time he'll snuggle.
Simple joys. I gave the kids boxes to play with and WOW! They had so much fun!
She was so tired this day; she fell asleep on the couch. My kids just don't do that!!

I'm a couponer!

I'm not sure if it would be concidered an addiction or a passion. Either way I am really big into coupons. I use www.pinchingyourpennies.com and they have all the stores listed and tell you which coupons to use where, and what your final price would be. Some may think that I'm too into it or that I obsessive over it. Other think it isn't worth it to buy the paper JUST for the adds and coupons. I will say it does take time to get the hang of it and the more you coupon, the faster you become. Enough being said, I got the following this morning at Albertsons:
4 toaster strudels (Kenadee is going thru withdrawals)
8 bags of frozen veggies
6 boxes of cereal
3 cans of Bisquits
4 pouches of cookie mixes
2 cake mixes
All for $13.32!!
I rest my case that is SO worth buying the paper for coupons!!

Sound Asleep

video

This is how a boy sleeps when he has bronchitis, some slight asthma, and really BAD ear infection. I feel so bad for him!!

We have had lots of fun with my family in town! Here are some highlights so far...

Family coloring...
We went on a triple date with some brothers that Taylor works with. There is Courtney, Derrick, Me, Taylor, Jared, and Jody. That was a fun night! Lots of laughs, jokes, and food. Thanks for the good night guys!!!

Some much needed shopping!!

Black Friday!

Yes, I went out again this year. I wasn't able to last year up in Washington and I greatly missed it. So I was more than doubly excited...however I was kind of disapointed. I had great plans to price match at Walmart, only to find that Walmart didn't carry it. (my fault for not checking prior) Walmart also didn't have some of their advertised items even in stock! Target however price adjusted as planned. :) I think I have unrealistic expectations. Over all I spent $32. About $25 in gift cards, and due to price adjustments I was refunded $70 PLUS recieved a $100 gift card. That you know every detail about my morning..... here are a bunch of Tay's cousins and my sister-in-laws. We were in line at Target; the best part was definately the company!! Thanks everyone for the great time!!!

What a Wonderful Day....

We went to the zoo yesterday with Annie and Jane. (Gotta love FREE day!) It was an interesting day. Lots of smiles, fights, tears, laughs.....

Fisher's favorite was the big monkeys. He made his first monkey sound too!! That was the best part of the zoo; for sure!

This was the second favorite. Don't be offended, Annie!

The whole gang!

I am going to have my family visiting for the next two weeks or so with a day in between the two visits; so we decided to enjoy a good family evening. We love Tucanos; but can't afford to go very often. The kids ate surprising well; especially Kenadee. YUMMM!!!

This year we started what I hope is a new tradition. This is our Grateful Garland. We hung it in our house and everyday the kids picked something different to write on their leaf/turkey that they were thankful for. Pretty simple and sometimes they picked silly things, but hopefully they started to get the idea to be Grateful.

Fisher hadn't been feeling well the whole day, so after we got home we had a family snuggle on the bed. The big kids didn't last long. Fisher on the other hand layed there with me for 45 minutes then fell asleep on me!! It was so tender and special; he hardly snuggles anymore-always on the move. These times goes by so fast but I sure lived it up last night.

We have so much to be grateful for right now, many of which are the obvious:

Our extended and immediate families

Our perfect health

Tay's job. The longer he has had this job, the more I love it. The more I realize what a huge blessing it has been in our lives. With all this economy stuff going on; Tate's job has never been in question. His job is secure.

(He just got home from working the graveyard and has requested a foot rub, so my gratitude will have to be postponed...)

We have been finishing the basement bathroom.... well, more Taylor than "WE". It will be nice to have it done with and not on our minds. Plus with company coming, they will have they're own bathroom. Here are the kids and in Lowes with me; they were very helpful!
We went to Twilight on Friday for date night. Tay has read the books I haven't- I know, now I'm going to hear about it. I don't think I could say that I'm too busy... I guess I just have different priorities. I would rather do a craft or read my magazines.... Anyway. Taylor was the only guy in our group of 12. With maybe 12 other men in the packed theater. I didn't get a picture of all of us together cause a few showed up late... oh well. Good movie though!!!!

This was just this morning. So cute!

Looks like fun!

I know how jealous you are! It was our turn to watch all the kids last night while our friends had date night. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be; I can't believe we've been doing this exchange for a year now. After a couple of hours of play time, we put a movie on.... GOOD CHOICE!! They just sat there! There are two couches down there, I don't know why they all sat on one!!!

A good week!

It was a good change from last week...

Happy Birthday to ME!!  Taylor came home from work early and surprised me with flowers! He doesn't do stuff like very often so I was pleasantly surprised!!

Later that night we went out with our best friends, the Jacksons, to do sealings at the temple, then out to dinner. They even paid!! Thanks guys!!!!! It was a great way to end the day!! I sure have been very blessed to have wonderful people in my life. Thanks to all of you for making my birthday special!!

We actually got this snow before my birthday. We were out of town the first time it snowed this season, so the kids were very excited to play this time!! Fisher... not so much! He liked to look at it, just not be cold IN it. I look forward to many snowball fights and snowmen this year. I am not a huge fan of playing in it... but I do LOVE to play with my kids so I'll venture out in it for them!

Taylor taught the kids how to reload bullets. I can't believe how much they enjoyed it. It is probably a lot how I feel about it. The reloading itself isn't FUN, it's the spending time with their Dad that they enjoy!

When I was up in Washington back in June, my Mom sent us home with my Legos that I  had growing up.  I remember playing with them all the time, I loved them. So I finally busted them out (while Fisher was napping) yesterday and THEY LOVED IT!!!! It kept them occupied ALL day long. WOW! It is a really cool set; with horses, stables, a trailer...  I made it all for them just to have it torn apart 10 minutes later. Oh, well. Let their imaginations go wild.

I have to give a HUGE shout out to my brother... He was obsessed with Legos, so when I got old enough I got my very own. Clint and I have had lots of memories with these. So "Thank you!" My kids will now have plenty of Lego Memories of their own!!! (Yes, Clint I did have some of your pieces in with mine... I'll give them to you at Thanksgiving)

My birthday week... so far

Well the week started off good....

My mother-in-law made a cake on Sunday, which was very good!! (yes, this is my brother-in-law in the back ground... AND his wife!)

AND the Colts won their game that night against the Patriots!!!

Taylor gave me my gift early!! I have wanted a Dyson for a long time and our old one broke. (I should actually say my in-laws old one) Yah!! I LOVE it! And I don't mind vacuuming now. It is a good sucker!!

Hmm.... I was in my first car accident today. So, I pulled up to McDonalds to return my redbox movie. (I didn't want to keep it an extra night.... I'm really cheap!) I didn't park in a parking spot, instead I parked behind parked cars (perpendicularly) I jump out to return the movie and hear Kenadee yell "Mom." (I left my door open) I turn around and my car is GONE!! It was rolling backwards in the parking lot. I run. All of my kids are in there. A man jumps out of his car and runs. He puts it in park just in time for it to hit an old Civic- somehow only breaking the Civic's taillight. My car pushed the Civic 5 feet. My entire bumper needs to be replaced. I have never been in a car accident before and technically I wasn't today either. APARETNLY, it wasn't in park. I was shaking so bad and owner of the Civic was really nice. So.... with one bid at $1,000 or the $500 deductible it looks like we are having a small Christmas this year.

I'm just glad that I didn't have to pay $1 for keeping that damn movie an extra day!!!

We voted...

and here is our proof.  That 75 minutes sure was long. It could have been worse though. I wanted the kids to be apart of it and to start learning about what we get to do as Americans. Even though they probably won't remember; I wanted to set a good example for them.

My very first time voting was pretty cool. It was ON my 18th birthday, and I was voting for the President of the United States. Now, how many people get that opportunity?

Trunk or Treat

We had our trunk or treat early (which was awesome!) So here are some pictures from that. We forgot Kenadee's wings, but once we saw other Tinkerbell's we remembered and Tay ran home to get them. Can I say how much I love the trunk or treat?? It's awesome!! So fast, easy, and convenient.

Not the most masculine lion, I know. But he's still cute.

His favorite was being able to pick out a treat. He'd even put it in the bag.... than he'd reach back for another one. (definately my kid!)

more fun...

This one is random, but I just love Fisher's face in this picture. He loves his older siblings!!

Clint and Natasha Rucker

I'm not even sure where to start... We had a wonderful time in Arizona!!! I came home with almost 150 pictures, so it is really hard to pick which ones to post. It literally couldn't have gotten much better. The first couple of days we were crazy busy planning and preparing for the luncheon; which was at my aunt and uncle's house. It went amazingly; and was so beautiful!! Such a wonderful occassion to celebrate!!

Here is my Dad and beautiful sister, Courtney! I had such a hard time saying goodbye to her. We had a lot of time bonding on this trip. She also had her 19th birthday on the day of the reception. That night I told her I was sorry that she didn't have an amazing birthday with all the spotlight; and what she said made me bawl even more. "I had my family!" I realize that for most people that isn't a big deal; they are with their families for every occassion. Not so with my family. Hardly EVER are we ALL together in the same place. MAYBE every couple of years. (and there is only 3 kids!!) Being apart from my family is very bittersweet... more bitter. I think that I have a great appreciation for my family that most take advange of. I also think that it has brought us closer together. Even though there IS advantages, I miss my family!!
MOVING ON...

The sealing was one of the best I have seen. The sealer gave them some great advice. I bawled my eyes out. I am so happy for my big brother. I am so happy that he found someone so perfect for him. He has made a huge step in his life and I am glad he chose Natasha for this special journey. It was an amazing experience to be there in the temple with them. It is a memory I will hold very close to my heart. I am so proud of both of them. Just writing this, I am about to cry. I am so happy that Clint is going to have the same happiness that I have, with his eternal companion!!!

The bride and Dee Dee

The Rucker side. It was 96 degress that day!

This is at the temple; I just loved this picture.

This is the luncheon food. My uncles have huge smokers and they made chicken, brisket, potatoes, and beans. It was so GOOD. It is actually the same meat that I had at my wedding. My uncles drove their huge diesel trucks with the smokers on trailers ALL the way from Arizona to Washington. Here's a HUGE shout out to Uncle Doug! LOVE YOU!!!

This is actually in this post on purpose. Taylor was able to go shooting with my cousin's husband, Mark, on Saturday. This is the first coyote he has ever shot. He was SO excited! Thanks Mark! (thanks for letting Taylor borrow your husband for the morning, Marisa!)

Look at those handsome men!!! I am a huge fan of the brown suit! Nice pick Tasha!!

Some cute kids in their "wedding clothes." I sure love my kids; and husband; and family!! It was a great experience. Even though it's nice to be home and in my own bed; I miss my family already. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Clint and Tasha- I hope you are having fun in Hawaii! I am so jealous!!
